The Bible has several books written in the ancient literary styles of over 4,000 years ago: Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Songs. Hebrew poetry, like poetry in any language, is designed to move the reader through the spectrum of human emotion: from sorrow to joy; from hate to love; from excitement to depression – yet only biblical poetry finds its focus centered in God, not man.
